By the time she was finished, she stood several feet away from the candles and they were half melted. A few times she’d had to look to them to control the strength of the flames, but she had been able to light one or all and in different patterns. Extinguishing the last one, she turned and looked at them. “Did I pass?”

Wes nodded, without looking away from the candles. ‘I’m feeling twinges of jealousy right now. It took me months to be able to do that.” He grinned at her. “Then again, I was twelve.”

Feeling flushed and out of breath, almost exhilarated, she looked at Leland. He pushed away from the wall and started walking toward her. She didn’t have to ask his thoughts, they were right there in his eyes. If his look could consume her, it would have.

Wes cleared his throat. “I’ll go get that text from the car.”

She couldn’t look away from Leland to reply, so she just nodded. Energy jolted through her when he was almost in front of her. “Well?”

He didn’t say a word as his eyes raked over her entire body, leaving her shaking in the wake. Stopping in front of her, he gripped her hips and pulled her into his body roughly. Before she could think to wrap his arms around him, he grasped the back of her head, and his mouth crushed down on hers in a fervent kiss that made her body feel as if it were engulfed in flames. Lifting his head, he gasped for air while melding her body into his hard form. “You’re amazing.” He kissed her again before she could speak.

Her head felt like it was floating and if it weren’t for his tight grip on her she may have melted to the floor like the candles had. Wrapping her arms around his neck, she returned his kiss feeling the energy flow through her. The glow he brought her earlier turned into a simmer and she knew without asking that it was his magic wrapping around hers. It was enticing and so erotic at the same time she had no choice but to give into the feelings burning through her.

Wrapping his hand in her hair, he tilted her head back so his mouth could ravish her throat. She could feel every inch of his body pressed into hers and could feel his pulsing with the same need that was threatening to take her.

“Whoa! Gods, you two better take it down a few degrees.”

Leland stiffened and lifted his head. Teegan peaked around his body to see the candles had melted into a line of wax with only a few remnants of wicks trying to remain burning in the liquid wax.

Taking a deep shuddering breath, Leland held her lightly against his body as he tried to catch his breath.

“Do I, ah, is it safe for you two to be left alone?” Wes’s voice was filled with awe and uncertainty.

“It’s contained here.” Leland’s voice rasped. “We won’t set off anyone’s radar while we’re in this building.
